In the big world of voice over, no one works a 9-5 day unless it happens to be a studio. Studio time is tough to schedule because so many people need them and frequently they are booked up last minute.
This week we had a producer who chose two talent to voice two scripts, both talent speaking on each script. The producer and the studio were east coast, the two voice over talent were west coast. Of course all of our voice talent have paid Source Connect. While discussing the schedule, I asked why the producer didn’t have both talent record at the same time? The producer replied that that isn’t possible. I assured him it was and the engineers, the studio and Source Connect could handle it. In the end, the producer did schedule both talent together with a note that he wanted them to allow extra time in case recording together didn’t really happen.
I scheduled each talent, and informed each one of the othere’s name and it seems these two talent have recorded together on prior projects and had great compatability for shared scripts. Both talent were excited to attend this session from their home Source Connect studios. The talent connected, performed, waited when the engineers put the piece to picture and were dismissed in less than one hour’s time with great approvals and smiles.
Just think of the time saved for all parties involved and the benefit of using Source Connect to tie it all together for easy editing since all voices were on one track.
